Itinerary Code (NT-103). The carefully tailored tour gives you an exquisite experience of the 3 major Districts of Gilgit-Baltistan i.e Hunza, Skardu & Gilgit. The Gilgit-Baltistan tour combines the thrills of touring in the glacial mountain of Himalayas and the Karakoram Range mountains along the Karakorum highway (KKH).Hunza-Gilgit-Skardu tour is undoubtedly the best tour Pakistan has to offer in the high mountains of Asia. During the tour you will have the pleasure of exploring the ancient cultures, tradition and life style of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.It is pertinent to note Hunza, Skardu and Gilgit existed as independent Kingdoms ruled by monarchs for centuriesbefore their accession to Pakistan until recently.

Day 01: Arrival at Islamabad International Airport.

Our representative/Guide(s) will warmly receive you from the airport and transfer you to the hotel. This day you will recover from the Journey and depending upon the time available we may have an option of exploring the green city of Islamabad. Later in the day you will have a briefing about Hunza-Gilgit-Skardu Tour.

Day 02: Drive to Chilas/Naran (7-8 hrs )

After breakfast you will start your drive towards north via Babusar Pass road (Seasonal road) or Karakorum highway. On the way you will have some spectacular views of valleys and mountains. We will have frequent stops for Photos and Tea. If we drive though Babusar Pass(Seasonal road) we will stay night in Naran at our standard partner hotel or if we drive on kkh we will check in to hotel in Chilas city which is base town to Nanga Parbat Peak.

Day 03: Drive to Gilgit

After breakfast on this day, we will continue our trip towards Gilgit City on Karakorum highway along the mighty Indus River which is the provincial capital of Gilgit-Baltistan region. Driving along Karakorum highway is an unforgettable experience you will see rivers and glacier, valleys and Peaks.Frequesnt stops for photos and sightseeing. Night stay in Gilgit City at a standard partner Hotel.

Day 04: Drive to Karimabad, Hunza Valley. (2hrs)

In the morning we continue our drive of Gilgit-Baltistan Tour on Karakorum highway along the ancient Silk Route. Driving on the Karakorum highway from Chilas to Hunza is an unforgettable experience; you will see valleys and peaks, rivers and glaciers. We will have a mandatory stop on the famous view Point of Nanga Peak (8,126 m), Junction Point of Karakorum, hindukush and Himalayan mountain Range. We will also stop by views point of Rakaposhi Peak (7,788 m) locally known as “Dumani” and Ancient Silk Road View point on kkh for sightseeing and photos. Check in to a standard partner hotel in Karimabad Hunza valley.

Day 05: Exploring Karimabad Hunza. (2,300 m)

Karimabad also known by Baltit is the capital of Hunza Valley and serves a gateway to major treks in Hunza valley. Karimabad has a famous Bazaar handicraft and gemstones (bazaar).We will visit the mediaeval Baltit Fort. You will be doing a beautiful walk along a local water channel (Barbar) on a sandy road running through the viallge.On this day lunch from your pocket because karimabad has some famous cafes of local cuisines and famous coffee shops. One place you can try is Café De Hunza: a coffee shop famous for the Hunza walnut cake which we recommend to our guest.

Day 06: Drive to Khunjerab Pass. 4,693 m (4-5 hrs.)

Today we will drive on an epic adventure we will start our day early. We will be passing by the famous Attabad Lake, Passu Village and Batura glacier to khunjerba pass the border crossing between Pakistan and China. You can expect cold temperature even during summers here, Keep a warm fleece handy. On the drive back we will check into a standard partner hotel in the picturesque village of Passu village.

Day 07: Drive to Skardu. (7-8 hrs.)

After breakfast at Passu we will embark towards the second leg of Glgit-Baltistan Tour towards Skardu, the capital of Baltistan district. After an epic drive for 2.5 hrs. We will leave Karakorum highway for skardu road from Alam Bridge along Indus River. You will be heaving frequent stops for sightseeing/Photographs. Throughout the journey onwards from Alam Bridge you will come across some incredible wild landscapes of small villages and valleys. Check in to standard partner hotel. Night stay in Skardu town at a standard partner hotel.

Day 08: Skardu City, Sightseeing and Rest day. (2,500 m)

On day one, you wake-up to some breath taking views from the room of your hotel. Skardu is the capital of Baltistan district and base town to the famous K-2 Basecamp Trek, Gashebrum, Ghondogoro la etc. Right after breakfast you will take a 1.5 hr drive to the famous Sadpara lake and Manthal Buda rock (dates back to 8 century).On the way back will visit the famous Shangrila lake .You will have free time to visit the local market and visit local villages.

Day 08: Road adventure to Khaplu. (2 hrs).

Today you will continue your Hunza-Gilgit-Skardu Tour along Shyok River. On the drive you will come across several lush green Balti villages.Khaplu was the 2nd biggest kingdom of Baltistan region before it’s annexation with Pakistan.You will have ample time to discover Khaplu village and interact with locals. Check in to hotel.

Day 09: Sightseeing in Khaplu.(2,601 m).

After breakfast you will explore the town. You will visit the famous Chaqchan mosque (700 yrs old) the oldest mosque in the region.Bhuddism was the dominant religion of Baltistan before people converted to Islam and it was under the influence of Tibetan empire before 13th century. You’ll see a lot of resemblance to Tibetan architecture style like thick walls of homes. You will have ample time to explore the local market and visit local farms. Night stay in Khaplu.

Day 10: Drive to Skardu via Shigar. (2.5 hrs.)

On this day you’ll head back to Skardu through Shiggar valley along Shyok, Indus and then Skardu River.Shigar is famous for being the gate way to world’s famous Treks and Peaks. In Shigar you will visit the famous Shigar Fort now turned into a museum. Night stay in Shigar or Skardu city.

Day 11: Drive to Chilas/Naran (8-9 hrs.)

After breakfast in Skardu we will head towards the town of Chilas .It’s important to keep in mind there is mainatainence work going on Skardu road up till Alam bridge before we hit on the kkh. You’ll have some incredible views of mountain vistas (Nanga Parbat Peak) and small villages all along. Once we hit kkh it’s a 2hrs Journey to Chilas.You will be having frequents stops for Photos/Tea. Check in to hotel at a standard partner hotel.

Day 12: Drive to Islamabad (7-8 hrs. )

On this day we will drive towards Islamabad either through Babusar Pass (subject to season) or Kkh. The Babusar Road is a lot more scenic and paved throughout but is only open from June to October. There are some incredible views of lush green oasis and mountains all the way down. The major Towns we cross include Kaghan, Naran andTaxila Frequent stops for Photos/Teas. Check in to the same hotel in Islamabad.

Day 13: Departure Flight-Fly Home

Your Guide will transfer you to the Islamabad International airport depending on the schedules of your Flights.

Pakistan is among the worst hit by climate change globally with temperature soaring and glaciers melting. Mass tourism has been a challenge during summer vacations. We at Nomadic Tours (Pakistan) contribute in our little capacities. We ensure we leave behind minimum carbon foot prints and leave behind a cleaner and greener environment for upcoming generations.

From 2021 we will be planting a tree for every booking you make with us.The native trees include non- fruit bearing (Willow,Poplar,Oak and Russian Olive).Fruit bearing Trees include (Apricot,walnut,Peach and Cherry).
